Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF)

The Christian Women's Fellowship provides an opportunity for spiritual growth, enrichment, caring and love. Through education and service, women are enabled to develop a sense of personal responsibility for the whole mission of Jesus Christ. The CWF is dedicated to support our local, regional, state, national and international mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Support is given to each area of our denomination through our annual budget.

Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month (Septemeber - May)

Projects have included:

Annual Fall Bazaar
Chicken Pie Worshops
Baked Potato and Chess Tart Workshops
Meals-on-Wheels Fundraisers
Donations to local and regional mission projects

Christian Men's Fellowship (CMF)

The Christian Men's Fellowship (CWF) provides opportunities that minister to the unique needs of men in the church to equip and enable them to fulfill their potential as servants of God, build relationships between members and friends and strengthen the total work of the church.

Meetings are usually held bi-monthly

Projects have included:

Fundraising events for Summer Camp Scholarships
Church Workdays
Community Fellowship Events

Goodtimers (Seniors)

Goodtimers enriches the spiritual lives of senior adults, meeting the second Monday of each month (except June - August) for fellowship, spiritual enrichment, lunch and fun together. The goals are to: show concern for each other, develop friendships, reach out to new people in our church and community and to demonstrate God's example of love within the group.

Special day trips are enjoyed by this group in the Fall and Spring. Members also volunteer monthly to help in the local Samaritan Ministry Soup Kitchen.

Memorial Day Lawn Party

The entire Pfafftown community is invited to join us for an afternoon of Remembrance and Celebration. We gather at our Picnic Pavilion for food, fun, and recognition of those who have given their lives in service.

Community Garden

Our community garden occupies an acre on the south slope of our campus. It has areas for individual neighborhood gardeners, as well as a large area dedicated to growing food for those in need. In the 2011 season, we gathered over 2 tons of produce from the garden, with more than 2,600 pounds donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank and over 1,400 pounds going to gardeners and others in our community.

Children & Teens

Summer Camps

Along with Christian education, church activities and events, week-long summer camp experiences are offered at both Christmount in Black Mountain, NC and at Camp Caroline in Arapahoe, NC. Both camps are owned and operated by Disciples of Christ and provide wonderful spiritual and fellowship opportunities for our children and teens. Scholarship funds are available to attend summer camps.

Vacation Bible School

Learning activities, games, crafts and supper together are part of what makes Vacation Bible School so special. A different theme and focus is used each year as we learn about God's great love for us and how we should live our lives according to His will. Vacation Bible School is held each August on Monday-Thursday evenings.

Trunk or Treat!

The church family and community are invited to gather in the Church parking lot for an annual evening of fun and fellowship with lots of trick or treating. Put your treats in the trunk of your car and join in the fun as the children trick or treat from trunk to trunk. Games, pumpkin carving, costume and trunk decorating contests and more make this a fun event for the entire family.
